Recent Developments in Fatigue Assessment of Ships and Offshore Structures

Abstract A review is provided of various approaches that have been adopted recently to assess the fatigue ships and offshore structures. The relevant loading reviewed first, focusing on successive unloading cargo transient loadings. factors influencing strength are discussed, including geometrical parameters, material, residual stress, ones related environment. Different for analyses seam-welded joints covered, i.e., structural stress or strain approach, notch intensity crack propagation approach.
